Who needs a leader?
In recent posts I’ve made some observations about the behaviours during coaching sessions for my cricket club. With the changing of the clocks and the improvement(!) in the weather we have now moved to outdoor training. Having talked about the challenges in terms of seeking leadership I thought that maybe sometimes a lack of a decision maker can in fact be a positive thing. A controversial thought maybe, but watch this clip:

As the hail and rain fell the canny coach (might have been me!) set about unplugging electrical equipment being used outside (bowling machine) and ran for cover. The boys just kept going. It was not unsafe, just unpleasant and a lack of a decision maker to say “This is silly, lets get inside” meant that training continued and a practice opportunity was not missed.
It reminds me of Forrest Gump “Run Forrest” and he did and he was blooming good at it to. And he was good at table tennis because he just practiced regardless…
Here’s to promotion at the end of the season.
